Teach Your Monster to Read

A PROJECT FROM THE USBORNE FOUNDATION

Teach Your Monster to Read

The computer version of the Teach Your Monster to Read game is 100% free.

• Game covers everything from letters and sounds to reading full sentences.

• It was designed in collaboration with leading academics.

• Game will complement all synthetic phonics programs used in schools or homeschools.

The Teach Your Monster to Read game takes children on a magical journey, meeting colorful characters along the way and collecting fantastic rewards. The goal is to engage children so they are more motivated to learn.

As children progress through the Teach Your Monster to Read game, they will practice a range of essential reading skills; matching letters to sounds, blending, segmenting, tricky words and reading full sentences.

Teach Your Monster to Read – Giving Back

The Teach Your Monster to Read game has been funded by the Usborne Foundation, a charity set up to support initiatives to develop early literacy. Their mission is to help as many children learn to read as possible. The computer version is 100% free. Profits from the app versions are put back into the Usborne Foundation to continue to create new and exciting ways for children to learn.

The Usborne Foundation was started by Peter Usborne MBE and his children. Peter Usborne is the founder of Usborne Publishing, one of the world’s leading children’s book publishing companies and Children’s Publisher of the Year 2012.

Usborne Publishing publishes the My First Reading Library – a boxed set that contains 50 books to teach your child learn to read. The Teach Your Monster to Read game is the “fun” that corresponds with the My First Reading Library – providing the extra games and activities to round out this reading program.
